Articulation refers to any speech disorder that can be defined by the distortion, substitution, omission, or addition of phonemes. Sometimes children have trouble pronouncing certain sounds. He or she may alter certain sounds due to his or her speech history. In most cases, children get rid of these problems over time. Articulation problems in children have many reasons, such as weak muscles, poor tongue control, problems with the respiratory system, or any type of speech immaturity. Sometimes adults also suffer from articulation due to hearing loss, brain damage, dyslexia, intellectual disability, etc.
